There are a wide variety of grants available to implement stormwater management and water quality improvements. Partnerships can improve your chances of receiving a grant, and CWMP participants are potential partners.
CWMP Planning Team organizations are potential resources to help access grants open to nonprofit organizations. We are also sources of technical assistance.
The following links provide overviews and details on several grant opportunities in Pennsylvania:
- Chester County Planning Commission offers several grants to municipalities for planning, land preservation, park and water quality improvements.
- PA DCNR Grants offer several grant programs from the for trails, parks, planning, riparian buffers etc.
Riparian Buffers – many funding opportunities exist to plan, design, implement and sometimes maintain forested buffers. See PA DCNR grant listed below. Also consider contacting Stroud Water Research, Center White Clay Wild and Scenic, Chester County Conservation District, Brandywine Conservancy or Brandywine Red Clay Alliance for potential funding partnerships.
Agricultural Funding – There are several funding programs to help agricultural land owners and operators implement practices that improve water quality. The Chester County Conservation District coordinates many of these programs with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Some CWMP Planning Team Partners also coordinate funding for agricultural practices in specific watersheds. This document provides more details.
